  About DCAT

Founded in 1890, Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies Association, Inc. (DCAT) is the premier business development association whose membership is comprised of companies that manufacture, distribute or provide services to the pharmaceutical, chemical, nutritional and related industries. In September 2003, the organization, formerly known as The Drug, Chemical & Allied Trades Association, voted to update its name to better reflect the technological advances that have been made throughout the industries it represents. The Association provides services, programs and activities designed to support the business development objectives of its membership.

Through meetings, educational seminars and other events, DCAT members are afforded a variety of benefits and business development opportunities. Programs and events give member representatives the chance to learn new industry information and trends as well as make important contacts, dialogue with counterparts in other member companies and build relationships with current and potential customers. DCAT's most notable event is DCAT Week and the DCAT Annual Dinner held each March at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. Other events include quarterly education and networking meetings, sourcing programs, a chemical processing program and regional golf outings. Additionally, DCAT has publications such as the DCAT Digest and The Directory Of Members that keep members in touch with their colleagues throughout the industry.

DCAT has also assumed a responsibility for the development of future leaders of the pharmaceutical, chemical and nutritional industries. Annual scholarships are awarded to students who excel not only in scholastic achievements but community leadership as well. In addition, the Association provides grants to colleges and universities for internships and other projects in the science-related areas. DCAT also seeks to foster education in the sciences at the primary school level and rewards those educators who provide unique science courses through a grants program administered by the National Science Teachers Association.
