DCAT/ISM Sourcing Summit to Focus on Innovation 
 
Robbinsville, NJ, May 6, 2011 – Industry challenges make it imperative that sourcing and procurement professionals help their organizations meet cost objectives and create value through innovation. At the DCAT/ISM Sourcing Summit on July 13 & 14 at the Sheraton Newark Airport Hotel, participants will learn key concepts and get hands-on experience developing innovative approaches to improve supply chain performance and increase market share.

The two half-day sessions designed for both sourcing professionals and suppliers will feature high-level keynote presentations, innovation panel discussions, an innovation exercise, the economic forecast, and networking events. Complete program details, speaker bios, and registration information are available here.

Keynote presentations: Puneet Sapra, director of worldwide business development and innovation at Pfizer and Paul Sidhu, vice president of marketing and strategy at DSM Pharmaceutical Products will provide high-level insights on how different types of innovation are developed and implemented to deliver overall value to the organization—including sourcing and business development relationships.

Innovation Panel Discussions: Two panel discussions will provide participants the opportunity to learn and ask questions from companies that have already succeeded in harnessing innovative ideas to create value for their organizations. On Wednesday, panel members from Teva, GlaxoSmithKline and Sartorius will share how their companies have harnessed innovative ideas to create value. On Thursday, panel members from Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and Saltigo will discuss how to create an innovative culture at an organization.

Innovation Exercise: During a collaborative breakout session facilitated by Accenture, attendees will practice using innovative tools with other sourcing professionals and suppliers to jointly develop innovative approaches.

2011 Economic Outlook: At Wednesday’s Networking Luncheon, Summit favorite, Dr. Robert Fry will examine the macro-economic landscape that defines today’s environment and outline factors that provide both challenges and opportunities for innovative approaches.

Wednesday Evening Networking Events: Following the Wednesday’s sessions, a reception, dinner and Summit Lounge and Comedy Club offer attendees the opportunity to discuss the day’s presentations and activities, as well as network with colleagues and customers.
