About DCAT: Who We Are
Founded in 1890, the Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies Association, Inc. (DCAT) is the premier business development association whose membership is comprised of companies that manufacture, distribute or provide services to the pharmaceutical, chemical, and related industries.
DCAT member companies represent the entire spectrum of the pharmaceutical industry—from pharmaceutical, API, and excipient sales and manufacturing to distribution, support technologies and packaging products and services. DCAT is the only association that brings the industry’s buyers and sellers together, providing services, programs and events designed to support the business development objectives of its membership.
At DCAT education programs and networking events, member company representatives learn about industry trends, as well as make important contacts, dialogue with counterparts in other member companies, and build relationships with current and potential customers.
Attended by thousands of industry professionals, DCAT Week® and the DCAT Annual Dinner, held each March in New York City, are considered the pharmaceutical industry’s premier events. Other annual programs, include Sharp Sourcing, an event for pharmaceutical sourcing professionals and their suppliers and the Scholarship Golf Outing, a key funding vehicle for DCAT's Science & Scholarship Committee initiatives.
DCAT is registered with the IRS as a 501(c) 6 not-for-profit organization. Prior to 2003, the organization was known as The Drug, Chemical & Allied Trades Association.
