Challenge the Pro Contest:
At hole 11 you’ll have the chance to challenge Cherry Valley’s own Club Pro, Allan Bowman.

This par 3 challenge is for you, or any member of your foursome, to get closer to the hole than the Pro with your first shot.  Here’s the interesting part, when you get to the tee box, your group can choose the club Allan has to use!  You’ll get to see firsthand how well the Club Pro can control his distance to the pin when you select his 5, 6, 7 or 8 iron.

Each member of your foursome can take their best shot (using any club of their own choice) and try to get closer to the hole than Allan.

Allan will note who had the best shots of the day, depending on the challenge he was given, and will present the top two golfers with prizes.

Club Rain Policy:
Cancellation of the outing due to inclement weather is at the sole discretion of Cherry Valley Country Club. If the outing is unable to be rescheduled by Cherry Valley Country Club, golfers will receive a full refund.

Players’ Cancellation Policy:
Cherry Valley Country Club requires that DCAT provide a final count of golfers 1 week prior to the event.  Therefore, cancellations of an individual or a foursome must be received no later than 5:00 pm, Monday, July 7th, 2008, in order to receive a refund. After that date, refunds will only be made if replacement players are available (minus any processing fees).

Cherry Valley Country Club requires the following attire: shirts must have collar, shorts must be Bermuda length, no jeans, and soft spikes. Also, they do allow ClimaCool type mock turtleneck shirts.

Funds raised at the Scholarship Golf Outing support the DCAT Scholarship Program and the Making a Difference Award. The award recognizes and honors excellence in a science program developed and implemented by middle-level science teachers, grades 6-12. It highlights innovative and effective teaching strategies combined with a science program that has influenced students to explore and investigate science and its application to global problems.

DCAT’s Scholarship Committee is proud to announce that Lisa Giles, a 7th grade teacher at Key Largo School, is the 2008 Excellence in Science (Making a Difference Award) grantee.  She will use the funds she received to expand the Everglades, Keys and Ocean (EKO) program which provides students with real life science research experience focused on the South Florida environment.

*All sponsor signage will feature your company logo.  After agreeing to a sponsorship, please forward your corporate logo in eps or high resolution jpg format to DCAT Meeting Service Coordinator, Dominika Martyniuk at dominika@dcat.org.
