DCAT Week 2007: DCAT Week is truly a unique event held each year during the month of March. Thousands of representatives in the PharmaChem and Nutritional industries from across the country and around the world gather at the Waldorf-Astoria. Center stage are education sessions, business meetings, receptions and the “famous” Annual Dinner.   

About the Packaging Council:
The Packaging Council is a discussion group for DCAT Corporate Member Company packaging professionals interested in new packaging technologies, regulations and industry standards.

DCAT’s Councils, designed for specific industry segments within the DCAT membership, are forums in which individuals from companies in the PharmaChem and Nutritional business can share common issues, ideas and have an opportunity to network. To participate in these councils, your company must be a corporate member of the organization.

OTC Drug Packaging: Considering the Silent Salesperson: There are a number of standout primary drug packages that have used color and shape to better impact consumers.  Why the infrequency of novel package introductions?  How can we overcome the inertia of clinical-look drug packaging?  This presentation and roundtable discussion will explore the potential for fresh resources and ideas to positively impact the consumer OTC drug experience.

         
About Our Speaker:
Matthew Dudas, Director of Marketing with Pretium Packaging is a 17 year veteran of the plastics packaging industry with primary experience in the injection molded closure, blow molded bottle and specialty resin segments.    

A career-long emphasis on systems thinking and team innovation has resulted in numerous collaborative package development successes in the food, drug, personal care and chemical segments which has led to his current position within Pretium Packaging. Matt has designed several child-resistant, dispensing and tamper-evident closures, managed the build of a Creative Services group for a leading plastics packaging company, has extensive bottle design experience and is a Synectics-certified group creativity facilitator.  He passionately advocates for addressing package development issues with cutting-edge thinking, tools and team approaches for rapid, innovative and effective results.
